"Allien Species" は、静岡県に生息する外来種を指すカラーコード付きの画像シリーズです。これは日本政府が定めた外来種の公式リストに基づいており、植民地時代から現代にかけての領土や所有の概念の連続性をメタ的に表現しています。デジタルと物理の境界を明確にし、物理的な世界では所属や分離の象徴的制約により望ましくない成長をする種を仮想的に維持し育成する可能性を提供します。 このアート作品に登場する種は、地域文化関係が築かれる温泉のミネラルの比喩であり、同時に領土という概念を超え、常に移行と変化の過程にあるものです。 Allien Species is a series of color coded images, each one referring to an alien species that inhabits in Shizuoka Prefecture. It is based on the official list of alien species determined by the Japanese government and it is acquired as an meta-expression of the continuity of concepts like territory and possesion from colonial to modern world. It streighten the borders between digital and physical and and offers the possibility of virtual maintenance and cultivation of species whose growth is undesirable in the physical world due to symbolical restrictions of belonging and detachment. ブラジル生まれ、近年は日本を拠点に活動。 植民地時代以前から伝わる知識体系を研究し、植物との親密な関わりを通して植物と人間との関係性を問い直している。 神話や植民地主義の歴史、言語、抽出主義、科学などさまざまな分野を横断してリサーチやフィールドワークを行い、香りやサウンドといった五感に訴える包括的な表現方法で、植物-石-物を新たな姿で捉える作品を制作している。 Born in Brazil and based in Japan. Anais-karenin situates her practice in the intimate engagement with plants, incorporating border thinking, pre-colonial knowledge systems, and mythology. She conducts research and fieldwork across various fields, reflecting on colonialism, language, territory, and science. Her artworks capture plants-stones-things in a new way through comprehensive expressive methods that deal with the cultivation of plant systems, installation, sound, scent, and image, appealing to a sensory and critical approach.
