副産物産店が集めている副産物を構成し、3Dスキャンした作品です。そこにあるけれどないもの、ないけれどあるものといった実在と不在を題材にした作品です。 作品名とした、《Burning Down the House​​》とは、「ジョジョの奇妙な冒険」第6部「ストーンオーシャン」編に登場したキャラクター、エンポリオ・アルニーニョのスタンド名です。スタンドとは、その人間の能力をキャラクターとして実在化したものですが、《Burning Down the House​​》は物体の幽霊を操ることができるスタンドであり、スタンド像は持ちません。作中ではピアノやパソコン等の幽霊が登場しており、いずれも本体のエンポリオによって使用することができます。ちなみにエンポリオとはイタリア語で「あらゆるものが手に入る大きな市場」という意味で、こういったイメージソースを元にタイトルとしました。 ※この作品は、3Dデータ作品になります。9/16以降に、ウォレット内で3Dデータへ変換されます。 This artwork is composed of byproducts collected by a byproduct store and has been 3D scanned. It explores themes of presence and absence—what is there but not seen, and what isn't there but is perceived. The title of the artwork, "Burning Down the House," is the name of the Stand belonging to Emporio Alnino, a character from the "Stone Ocean" arc of "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure." A Stand is a manifestation of a person's power characterized into being, but "Burning Down the House" can manipulate the ghosts of objects and does not have a physical Stand form itself. In the story, ghosts of objects like a piano and a computer appear, all of which can be utilized by Emporio. The name "Emporio" in Italian means "a large market where everything is available," and this image served as inspiration for the title. ※This piece will become a 3D data work. アーティストのアトリエから出る魅力的な廃材を"副産物"と呼び、回収、販売する資材循環プロジェクト。作品の制作過程で副次的に生まれてくる"副産物"は、アトリエの片隅に置かれいずれは捨てられる運命にあったモノたちです。それぞれの作家の感性を帯びた作品未満のそれらのモノたちに敢えてスポットを当てることで、ものの価値や可能性について改めて考える機会をつくりたいと思っています。主な展覧会は、MIND TRAIL 2023 奥大和 心のなかの美術館（奈良）やんばるアートフェスティバル2019-2020（沖縄）、かめおか霧の芸術祭（京都）など。京都を拠点に活動。 Byproducts Market is a material-recycling project that collects and sells attractive waste materials, or "by-products" from artists' studios. The 'by-products' that are created during art production process are things that were destined to be left in a corner of a studio and eventually discarded. By daring to shine a spotlight on these objects that are not quite artists' works but are nevertheless imbued with artists' sensibility, Yazu and Yamada want to create an opportunity to rethink the value and possibilities of them. Major exhibitions include MIND TRAIL 2023 Okuyamato (Nara), Yanbaru Art Festival 2019-2020 (Okinawa) and Kameoka KIRI Art Cultivation (Kyoto). Based in Kyoto.
